The Department “Social and cultural activities and folk art”, which trains club workers, was opened at the Aktobe Music College named after A. Zhubanov only in the 2012-2013 academic year. Students receive the following qualifications: “Teacher – organizer of leisure, head of the orchestra (ensemble) of folk instruments” and “Teacher – organizer of leisure, head of the dance group”. The reason for the emergence of the new branch was the corresponding needs of the labor market due to the resumption of clubs in the regions of Aktobe region and the lack of qualified personnel in this area, as well as the termination of recruitment for this specialty at Aktobe College of Humanities.

The first head of the department was appointed a college graduate who graduated from the Kazakh National University of Arts, A.Zh. Berdenova, who began active work on the formation of a new team. She was replaced in 2015 by Sh. Sh.

Sarsengalieva, who managed to achieve significant success and unite the efforts of teachers to create a competitive structural unit of the college, which merged into the unified system that has developed over the years.

Among the teachers of the department there are experienced masters, on whom the whole burden of organizational work that determines its specifics fell. First of all, this is G.K. Kalikova, who graduated from the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute of Culture named after Al-Farabi and teaches the special discipline “Organization of cultural leisure” common to all qualifications. Being a wise mentor for teachers first of all specialty – A.A. Kuzenbayeva, G.B. Kansultanova, beginning her pedagogical career in the department, she invariably participates in all significant events of the department, and her students win regional and republican competitions.

            A great success for the musical component of the department was the invitation as a teacher of B. Zeynelov, a well-known arranger in the city, who successfully collaborated with Dimash Kudaibergen, who began career. His significant merits in the musical life of the region were awarded the Order of Kurmet and the badge “Excellence in Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan” The work of B.Zeynelov with the orchestra of folk instruments of the department gave this creative team a new impetus to development.

Young teachers-musicians, such as T.E. Yesmurzina (orchestral class), A.S. Tokmurzina (kobyz), T.S. Burkishov (button accordion), J.A. Maratov (dombra). Later, experienced A.K. Kanatkaliyeva (dombra) was included in the number of teachers. Their students actively participate in competitions, often being among the laureates.

Young teachers-musicians, such as T. E. Yesmurzina (orchestra class), A. S. Tokmurzina (kobyz), T. S. Burkishov (bayan), Zh.A. Maratov (dombra), gradually joined the long-working teachers who formed the backbone of the department “Socio-cultural Activities and Folk Art”. Later, the experienced A. K. Kanatkaliyeva (dombra) joined the number of teachers. Their students actively participate in competitions, often being among the winners.

Future leaders of amateur dance groups are successfully trained by A. B. Yesenzhanova, N. Zh. Zhubaniyazov, M. K. Kazhgaliyeva and G. U. Tashenova. The creative ensembles created by them successfully perform at various concert venues of the city and the region, invariably causing a bright emotional response from the audience, and win competitions at the regional, national and international levels.

Over the years of its existence, the department has graduated more than 100 specialists, many of whom have continued their studies at the country’s universities and are successfully pursuing their careers. So, Zh. Karzhaubayuly, student of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after I. Kurmangazy, is the author of popular pop songs. Graduated from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov S. Nogaybaev became an artist of the State Theater “Astana Musical”, and G. Duisenbayeva, studying at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, performs in the famous choreographic ensemble “Dara”.

Although the department “Social and cultural activities and folk art” exists for a relatively short period of time, the successes achieved allow us to look with optimism to its future. Together with other departments, it contributes to the further strengthening and improvement of the existing positive and attractive image of the Aktobe Music College named after A. Zhubanov.
